Welcome to the Rho Gamma Chapter Website!
Elmira College, in upstate New York, the first college in the world founded to offer college education and university degrees to women, is the home of Rho Gamma Chapter. Co-educational since 1969, the College remains steadfastly rooted in the best tradition of the liberal arts and sciences.The College has a long history of educating nurses that dates back to 1930. In 1988 four year basic baccalaureate programs for individuals with no prior experience was initiated. In 2000, Rho Gamma, Elmira College’s Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing was chartered at the biennial convention in San Diego, California. In 2009 students from nearby Mansfield University of Pennsylvania were invited to join the chapter. To learn more about the college and chapter, read our history page.
